‘Key & Peele’ Unveil ‘TeachingCenter,’ Covering Teachers The Way ESPN Covers Sports
The news that this season of "Key & Peele" on Comedy Central will be the last has made each sketch that the duo puts out all the more precious. We love when they set their sights on the ridiculous worlds of sports and media coverage -- that's our wheelhouse, after all -- and their newest piece is exactly that... plus, a commentary on teaching.
Imagine if teachers made the same millions of dollars that athletes do. Imagine if their every move, from switching jobs to starting their careers, were covered by snarky TV analysts behind a huge, fantastically illuminated desk. Imagine if they were the stars of car commercials instead of Peyton Manning and, um, whoever else gets to be in a car commercial nowadays besides Peyton Manning. That's the world of "TeachingCenter."
It's got a not-so-sly "The Decision" reference. It's got teachers making $80 million over six years with another $40 million in incentives (based on test scores). It's got stupid ads via dumb voiceovers. Watch below:
