Our First Look At the New Season Of Fargo Sends A Creepy Message
After a wait that felt like an eternity, our first looks at the third season of Fargo are emerging, and while they're looking as appetizing as a hot meal at Lou's Coffee Shop or the Waffle Hut, it just makes the wait all the more agonizing.
While a majority of the spots have been short segments showcasing our familiar, icy Minnesota settings (shown below), one 30-second spot features three of our new main characters, including one of Ewan McGregor's two roles in the upcoming story. And from the looks of it, the man who portrayed Obi-Wan Kenobi wants to go home and rethink his life.
From what we can gather from the official synopsis, this is Ray Stussy, alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Nikki Swango. Keeping a watchful eye on them both is Gloria Burgle, who appears to be our trademark tough female cop with a heart of gold, following in Francis McDormand and Allison Tolman's shoes. As Ray and Nikki leave the diner, scared off by the appearance of Gloria, the flickering sign appears to give them a foreboding message. In addition to the trio of all-stars, the season will also star David Thewlis and Jim Gaffigan.
Based off the 1996 film, directed by the renowned Coen Brothers, of the same name, Fargo is an anthology series entering its third season. Though each season features a new cast and story, focusing on a different time, each taking place in the same narrative universe. Each season thus far has been released to critical acclaim, and has attracted talent like Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Patrick Wilson.
The new season will debut April 19.
