Remembering The Time New Pistons Coach Lawrence Frank Cursed On Live TV
Former New Jersey Nets skipper and lead Celtics assistant Lawrence Frank has agreed to a four-year contract with the Detroit Pistons to become their new head coach. The fourth season of Frank's deal is a team option that could become fully guaranteed based on incentives, and he is expected to sign early next week in Auburn Hills, Mich., where the team is planning an introductory press conference.
Frank, who beat out former Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson for the job, came highly recommended by Celtics head coach Doc Rivers and 76ers president Rod Thorn — his previous boss with the Nets. Under Frank, the team won two Atlantic Division titles and reached the playoffs in four seasons, including three trips to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
He also once said "shit" on ESPN.
