SVP & Russillo Continue Thanking Listeners As It Becomes Apparent They’re Leaving The Best Sports Show On Radio
It happened with Zoolander, it happened with Arrested Development -- hell, it happened with Family Guy before Fox came to its senses and rebooted the show. Some of the best content out there flies under the radar until it's on its way out. The SVP & Russillo program on ESPN Radio has never been considered a ratings machine like the shows of Mike Francesa or Jim Rome, but it has built a pretty damn loyal following -- which is becoming more and more apparent as the listening audience react to news of Scott Van Pelt's departure.
The duo thanked their listeners for the outpouring of support Wednesday, clearly humbled by the amount of positive feedback they're getting over social media.
"We do care what you think and we appreciate it," Van Pelt said. "It's been awesome. Thank you. More than we can say, and again, I can spend hours and days trying to catch up. Sincerely, thank you."
If you're not particularly familiar with the show, watch this clip of the show's producer Mike Costantinou interviewing Rob Gronkowski about Tinder pickup lines and you'll never be able to watch Colin Cowherd again.
MIKE: "Right now it's, like, feast or famine for me on Tinder...what do you say to chicks?"
GRONK: "Hey, do you work out, 'cause I'm ripped, I'm jacked,' and send them a picture with your shirt off. Something like that and they'll be like, 'Whoa, this guy is serious. I like him.'"
