Here’s Video Of Seth Meyers’ Uneven ESPYs Monologue

Seth Meyers opened the ESPYs with a 13-minute monologue last night, and as with most monologues, it had some hits, as well as its fair share of misses. Of course, it contained nothing that would make the crowd as uncomfortable as this (and even that one had some duds), but Meyers did get a few solid digs - if not all-out shots - in.
First up, though, was the low-hanging fruit of Brian Wilson, who was there, and dressed like Brian Wilson. Those jokes mostly focused on Wilson's beard ("It looks like your beard is wearing a fake beard"), though we also enjoyed the "obviously you hate attention" crack.
There were (of course) a ton of Miami Heat jokes, unremarkable since every Heat joke has already been made 15,000 times. There were also Los Angeles Dodgers jokes, which we were partial to because Frank McCourt really cannot be made fun of enough. And there were a couple edgier ones - both Jimmer Fredette and Aaron Rodgers were seen shaking their heads at a Brandon Davies joke, and the crowd did a collective "Oooooooh!" at a Kris Humphries/Kim Kardashian line.
Mostly, though, Meyers didn't push the envelope, which meant the potential for the highest highs of a monologue like Norm Macdonald's simply didn't exist. And of all the shots Meyers did take, many might notice one entity on which he took it easy - the network that aired the program (and, of course, invited him back to host again). But enough from us - video of the monologue below, so you can judge for yourself.
