SportsGrid Is Looking For Fall Editorial Interns
Attention media-obsessed sports fans: we're seeking interns for the fall. You must be available to join us in our New York offices in September (we're flexible about start and end dates), you must be in college or graduate school, and we'd love to see you 2-3 days a week so we can chop it up about weird things we see on SportsCenter. We're happy to provide college credit, too.
This intern will have a significant writing role on SportsGrid (meaning you’ll get a ton of bylines). Applicants should be: great writers, have a disturbingly complete knowledge of the sports media landscape/blogosphere/twittersphere, watch ESPN obsessively, and be familiar with our writing style.
Here are some additional things that aren’t totally necessary, but won’t hurt your cause:
*** Prior blogging or journalism experience (on your own, or somewhere else).
*** A genial, happy demeanor.
If you think you’ve got the right stuff, send the following to firstname.lastname@example.org:
*** A resume.
*** A sample post that you could see being published on SportsGrid – it must fit our writing style in the headline and the body of the piece.
*** Links to the best stuff you’ve written on the web (if you haven’t written on the web, it’s okay).
*** A brief cover letter that includes the following: a little about yourself, what sports blogs you follow and why, and your favorite and least favorite things about sports media.
Applications are rolling, so if you’re interested, email us as soon as possible.
