Colin Cowherd Once Called A Troll ‘Low Income White Trash’ Over DM
We're fans of Colin Cowherd. He calls it like he sees it, he's funny, he's not afraid to talk about sports like the cold, unforgiving business that it is. His meta analysis of the sports news industry is on-point, he's progressive and shrewd and rarely apologizes for speaking his mind.
As he's said before, "You can have an opinion about my opinion, but I'm not going to talk about your opinion on my opinion and my opinion on your opinion." We've always respected him for keeping his head above the reactionary social media discourse that dominates the sports media landscape nowadays. It's refreshing.
That's why it was so surprising to come across @ThaBigQ's #tbt Instagram post of a screenshot showing how Cowherd really does give a shit about what you think and say about his opinions. Almost too much, in fact.
Or at least he did in 2011...

Whoa, dude -- you're a celebrity who deals in over-the-top opinions on stuff that doesn't matter. Why are you confronting trolls with such potent trash talk? And what the hell does this dude's income level have to do with anything?
The recipient of this DM was 21 at the time Cowherd sent it to him. Even if the dude deserved to be put in his place, why would the host of the biggest sports radio show in the country even bother? (For the record, Cowherd no longer replies to tweets.)
Regardless of the virulence of the trolling that preempted this direct message, the fact that Colin Cowherd would go out of his way to call someone "low income white trash" is, by itself, disappointing. (The actual tweet that prompted Cowherd's DM is no longer available on @ThaBigQ's timeline, unfortunately, but he claims he called Cowherd "a douche" for criticizing the Detroit Lions.) Considering that Cowherd called us out on Monday, on the air, for sensationalizing his opinions on Kobe's career by quoting him, we're beginning to think that the guy really isn't as above the bickering he so often maligns on his show.
Also, we have to ask again: What would cause a self-identified wealthy man to call another person "low income white trash"? That's still bugging us.
