This Exists: Tiger Woods Is The New Pitchman For A Japanese Heating Rub
Anybody who's watched Entourage knows that an easy way for a celebrity to make money is to film a commercial in Japan, since they pay well and, though ridiculous, they'll never hit American airwaves. Apparently, Tiger Woods is taking a page out of the Vincent Chase playbook.
According to Business Insider, the Japan-based company Kowa has announced via press release that Woods signed on as a spokesperson for their heat rub, which is used for muscle and joint pain.
"Kowa Company Ltd. is pleased to announce the use of Tiger Woods as the image character of Antiphlogistic Analgetic Vantelin Kowa series."
This isn't Tiger's first time appearing on the Japanese-product-endorsement scene, as he also appeared in commercials for canned iced coffee in the 90s, but apparently those videos have all been destroyed (or just not posted anywhere online).
The new Woods commercials will debut nationally in Japan in mid-July, and thanks to Woods endorsing a product described as "muscle rub," jokes about the ads should pop up on late night shows and Twitter feeds everywhere.
