The Williams Sisters’ Newest Tennis Outfit Is Very Pink, Very Form-Fitting
Serena Williams is coming off some scary health issues, and her sister Venus had to withdraw from the Australian Open earlier this year. But both are now on the mend, aiming to return to competitive tennis later this year. And when they do, it might be in the most eye-catching outfit either has yet worn.
And that's saying something - neither Venus nor Serena is a stranger to some of the more provocative ensembles you'll see on a tennis court. But when Serena tweeted a picture, apparently of Venus (or not), on a practice court earlier today, well...
There's really not much more we can add here, just that that outfit left us exactly as speechless as we're sure it left you. In fact, your eyes are probably gravitating toward the photo and not reading this. We're not even mad - just keep staring at the outfit as long as you need.
...You're back? Cool. Anyway, if that gets worn during any round of competitive tennis...well, people will be talking, there's no question about that. We hope it happens, except that if the photo above is any indication, the sheen might blind a spectator. Really, after this, the only next step is for Venus or Serena to go full-on Green Man.
And one other note - there seemed to be some confusion as to which Williams sister is actually in photo. Serena's original tweet seems to indicate Venus unless she's talking in the third person, but many of those who posted comments on the picture seemed to think it was Serena. Deadspin said it's Venus.
And yes, the face is obscured just enough and at just odd enough of an angle that there's some doubt, but we'll err on the side of Venus unless we hear otherwise...and keep gaping in awe at that outfit. UPDATE: SportsCenter said it was Serena (as did a commenter below). WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
The outfit above inspired us to take a look at Venus and Serena's glorious sartorial past. Check it out here.
