A New Robot Is Attempting To Hitchhike Through Philadelphia — Everyone Pray For PopeBot
Please pray for PopeBot while you still can, everyone.
A Philadelphia radio station has devised a new hitchhiking robot scheme, as PopeBot set out on a journey through the Delaware Valley on Monday. Unlike HitchBOT, a social experiment which met a grisly demise in Philadelphia during a planned cross-country sojourn earlier this month, PopeBot's ambitions are more modest. WMMR 93.3:
"Hello, I’m Pope Bot. Inspired by my friend, #HitchBot, who sadly met his demise in Philadelphia, I am taking a journey around the Delaware Valley. The goal of my adventure is to prove to the Vatican that this area is a safe environment for the leader of the church. Plus, there is a prize each week for one person who gives me a lift!"
Pope Francis is visiting the area in September.

The twist this time is that PopeBot's creators are bribing people not to destroy him, by aligning with companies to offer prizes for his safe travel. Example:

I see no way this can end badly.
Philly will not recover if #popebot is dismantled..
