"Boomer Was Put in a Very Uncomfortable Situation"
In this latest interview clip with broadcasting veteran Mike Damergis, FNTSY Sports Network Host Craig Carton reflects back on the end of his decade-long professional relationship with Boomer Esiason. The pair had combined to dominate New York sports talk radio in the mornings from 2007 to 2017 with the Boomer and Carton show on WFAN.
Carton recalls how the dissolution of the show led to an uncomfortable period between the two, as Esiason seemed unsure of how to approach their friendship initially while remaining supportive of his longtime colleague and friend. Ultimately, though, the two reconnected in person recently, he tells Damergis, a Sports Communication and Media Graduate Professor at Iona College.
Meanwhile, Carton is moving ahead with continued momentum as a broadcaster, as he is on the verge of gaining his widest broadcast reach ever. "Carton and Friends" will now be nationally syndicated by Focus 360 and will debut on the Sports Byline USA Network on May 29. More details here.
