Holly Holm Rushes To Ronda Rousey’s Defense, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Offers To Train Her

Of all the people you'd expect to defend Ronda Rousey, the guy she's openly loathed and the women she called "fake" (then refused to tap gloves with prior to their UFC 193 title bout) are not two of them. Lo and behold, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and new UFC bantamweight champ Holly Holm have already come out swinging at those who've used Rousey's epic loss as joke fodder. With enemies like this, who needs friends?
Holm: “Ronda’s been a very dominant champ and she’s taken the sport to new levels. This fight wouldn’t’ve happened if she hadn’t accomplished what she’s accomplished, so I have a lot of respect for her. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to give away any bit of my victory, so I’ll take it. I’ll take the win and I’ll take that I took it dominantly. That doesn’t mean that I wish any harm on her. That doesn’t mean that I wish any hate on her. I think people can be pretty brutal, and when you’re in the spot that she’s in, there are people who are just going to jump ship and I don’t ever wish for that.”
Mayweather: "I don't think it's cool how everyone is trolling her on social media. Certain things you have to learn. People will love you on Friday and then Sunday morning, it's nothing but negative comments and people making jokes and people making fun about you, which I don't think is cool. I've never been on the other side, so I don't know how it feels. I'm pretty sure she's a very, very strong person, but we still have to take into consideration that she has feelings."
Mayweather even offered to play Apollo Creed to Rousey's Rocky, teaching her how to better prepare for a striker like Holm -- the best female boxer in the world, according to Ring Magazine. "I want Ronda Rousey to hold her head up high and don't let this discourage you," Mayweather said in an interview with ESPN. "If you need help as far as with boxing, I'm here to help you. It's all about timing and inches. Her ground game is unbelievable. She'll be OK."
Man, would that be a circus or what? HBO 24/7 Rousey-Holm II, featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. training/sparring with the woman who once called him "a little man" whilst kinda/sorta challenging him to a fight. Talk about an event. The internet would explode and every television in the western hemisphere would short-circuit.
