Hofstra Posts Trigger Warning In Presidential Debate Hall … But It’s Not For The Debate
This sign was posted in the lobby of the Hofstra University debate hall today, and it has conservatives rending garments and gnashing their teeth. It's a trigger warning, because, you know, Hillary and Donald are likely to say mean things when the debate begins tonight.
But no ... that's not it at all. A Hofstra spokeswoman told Buzzfeed News that this sign is for another event. Not the debate. So Republicans who have been mocking this, sorry, but it's not for Trump or Clinton.
Do you check your facts, Drudge Report, and all other outlets that reported this? No, of course not. Because this is Thunderdome.
But what in the world could be more upsetting than Trump vs. Clinton for 90 minutes? Well, MTV is playing host to an event next door, entitled Open Your Eyes. And it has nothing to do with the debate. Buzzfeed:
The event is a virtual reality event that hopes to inspire students to speak out about issues that matter to them.
“We’ve brought together over a dozen artists to express the issues they’re most passionate about, from climate change and gun violence to social justice and beyond, using virtual reality,” the event’s website states.
It adds: “We invite you to step inside the art and open your eyes to the ways you can make real change.”
