Don't get it twisted, though -- steroids are as prevalent as ever. It's just that nowadays, athletes (and occasionally entire nations) are really, really good at beating the tests mandated by the World Anti-Doping Agency. In fact, it turns out that they've gotten so good at masking banned substances, that the people in charge of policing them have stopped giving a shit.
