Man Infiltrates Goat Society, Lives As Goat For Three Days, Is Mocked By Comedians
As Chris Hardwick points out, the internet loves goats for a reason -- which will be outlined on this segment from Monday's @midnight on Comedy Central. British designer Thomas Thwaits, you see, was tired of being human, and loves goats so much that he decided to be one.
Thwaits designed some prosthetic limbs to walk around like a goat, and joined a herd to live like the animals for three days. He even considered stomach surgery so that he could digest grass (although there's no evidence he actually went through with that). The prosthetics grew very painful, and there was a moment in which Thwaits inadvertently made himself the alpha goat, which of course meant that other males would want to challenge his dominance and fight him. Konbini.com:
"There was a moment when, because I tended to go up hill as it was less painful, I was at the head of the herd, higher than almost all the other goats. Everyone had stopped chewing and was staring at me. But before it came to a fight, luckily a goat that I had been hanging around with a lot sort of diffused the situation by walking through the herd, and we all sort of moved along the hillside together."
Anyway, it's all explained here on Monday's @midnight:
But the biggest revelation? Thwaits:
"Some grass tastes better than others."
