Ronda Rousey Is Aware The Word ‘Come’ Has A Double Meaning
September 17 / Jake O'Donnell / SportsGrid
Ronda Rousey holds nothing back, ever. In the ring, at the gym, while holding a microphone at a UFC sanctioned event -- the highest-paid UFC fighter is playing with house money right now so she's got carte blanche when it comes to speaking her mind.
Yesterday was no exception.
After going on a lengthy rant about American professional sports' draconian weed testing guidelines -- while sitting next to UFC president Dana White, mind you -- Rousey laid out her exact *plan to dismantle Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 13.
*Her very, um, personal plan.
“If I came right in her face right away -- wow, that sounded terrible, ” she said, realizing that the word "come" can mean, like, something else. “Oh my God."
Yes Ronda, we do. But go on if you care to elaborate as to what you might have THOUGHT we were thinking...
"Well, not right away -- I'd take my time with that."
[Golf clap for that visual]
"How do I even say this right now? Let me rephrase that: I can’t really be aggressive right away because Holly is a counter-puncher. She is a person that I need to be extremely careful with. In saying that, though, she’s a 19-time boxing champion, not a 19-time MMA champion.”
Too late, we've already permanently etched that mental image into our occipital lobe. No backsies.
