If an Australian accent is good for anything, it's entertaining me (and presumably everyone else) when used to break up a fist fight during a rugby match. "Let dit gao. Let dit gao. Shawwwn. Shawwwwwn. Gao uh-waay." Love it.
Karl Lawton and Brett Solomon of the Gold Coast Titans and Canberra Raiders, respectively, got into it during Monday's National Rugby League "Holden Cup" U-20 game. Punches were thrown and landed, and thrown and landed and thrown and landed some more, as announcers barked things like, "Hava gao bouys!" and "Bayng!"
"Woohoo!" someone could be heard shouting around the 57-second mark.
Never change, Australia. Never change.
