Same Bullfighter Is Gored In Neck For Second Time In Three Months (Sad Trombone)
The bulls have formed a union, apparently, and are now organizing their attacks. They particularly have a thing for "prominent matador" Saul Jimenez Fortes, who was gored in the neck on Sunday at the Feria de San Isidro bullfighting festival in Salamanca, Spain, "the horn going up through his chin and reaching the base of his skull, according to reports."
It was Fortes' first time back in the ring since May, when he was also gored in the neck. That time, he was lifted on the bull's horn and required several hours of surgery. No word yet on whether he survived his latest skewering.

Meanwhile, Darwin worked overtime this past week in Spain, land of gorgeous sunsets and animal torture, as four people were gored to death by bulls in the space of just three days. The latest -- Miguel Ruiz Perez, 29, was gored in the abdomen after slipping as he tried to avoid a baby bull at a summer festival in Navarra, Spain, according to reports.
Not only was it the fourth Spaniard killed by bulls in three days -- it was the eighth death since the beginning of July. Either humans are becoming less coordinated, or bulls are getting organized and going in for the kill rather than just being satisfied poking folks in the ass. As almost seen below (some of the video is censored), the moron mentioned above got the business end of the bull.
It was kind of a banner weekend for bulls -- one might say they swept the four-game series. Daily Mail:
* Jose Alberto Penas, a local councillor in Traspinedo, Valladolid, bled to death after being gored during a San-Fermin-style bull run in Penafiel on Saturday morning.
He was cornered after bumping into another man and losing his balance when the animal suddenly changed direction and charged runners behind it.
* An unnamed 32-year-old from Valencia died on Friday in Museros, just north of Valencia on Spain's east coast.
Shocking video footage posted on YouTube showed him being horned in the back as he tried to reach safety through a gap in metal railings erected around the area where bulls are set free as part of the town's annual festivities. He was caught in a bottle-neck of people trying to squeeze through the narrow gap as the bull charged - and tossed up in the air like a rag doll before being dumped on the ground.
* Just after midnight on Friday, lottery seller Rafael Minano died in Murcia after a bull severed his femoral artery during a packed run in the nearby town of Blanca.
Medics said he also suffered multiple chest injuries, abdominal wounds and two heart attacks after being caught by the bull's horns as he tried to escape over a wooden fence, dragged to the ground, and gored repeatedly.
When your culture glorifies the practice of taunting cattle, it's pretty pathetic. It's hard to feel sympathy for anyone here, except the bulls.
