‘… So He Just Started Running, Which Is Technically Not The Way You’re Supposed To Race The Tour de France’
Here we are at Stage 12 of the Tour de France on the slopes of Mont Ventoux, where the leader has ditched his bike and just started running. Go, Chris Froome, go!
The British cyclist retained the yellow jersey in the most bizarre way possible, after crashing into a competitor who had collided with a motorbike. Seeing that his bike was broken, Froome just began running up the hill -- like knights pretending to ride their horses in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Needless to say, Froome lost the yellow jersey, finishing 53 seconds behind fellow Briton Adam Yates. But the race jury had mercy, and later reinstated Froome as the leader. It's the first time in race history that a rider has won a stage on an imaginary bike.
