Though we may be a divided nation, we can take solace in knowing that today, the day after Donald Trump has been declared the 45th President of the United States, we share at least one thing in common: we're all exhausted. Not only from a full day watching the Electoral College unfold, but from nearly two years of non-stop politics consumption.
On his show Tuesday night, Stephen Colbert gave this a name: poison.
"We drank too much of the poison," he said moments after learning the results of the election. "You take a little bit of it so you can hate the other side, and it tastes kinda good and you like how it feels and there's a gentle high to the condemnation."
