The Only Way To Stop A Bad Guy With A Drone Is With A Good Guy With A Drone And A Giant Net
Drones are filling our skies like traffic in a George Lucas prequel, and it's quickly becoming unsafe. A Bard College study has counted 90 “incidents” with commercial jets worldwide in the past two years alone, and hundreds more with other manned aircraft. Drones are also being used to spy over restricted areas, and in one case, deliver drugs into a prison.
How do we fight this menace? A British company, Liteye, has developed a drone "death ray" that can knock drones out of the sky by turning them off in mid-flight. It was demonstrated in Las Vegas last week. But for a lower-tech, cost-efficient solution, Japan thinks it has this thing figured out. The Japanese police now have this (see video below).
A larger drone with a big net should do the trick. It's just like scooping Koi fish from your pond with a net.
We imagine that a Clark Pest Control Strip would work just as well as the net.
