Times Square Spider-Man Beats Up Notorious Supervillain Dr. Ass-Crack
This new Spider-Man reboot is kind of weird.
It happened earlier today, when a burly lout was harassing and bullying street performers in Manhattan's Times Square, and one of the costumed characters had had enough. Spider-Man swung into action -- appropriately, in front of a Toys R Us -- and tackled the jerk, who we will call "Doctor Ass-Crack", for obvious reasons.
New York Daily News:
"The guy was harassing a number of performers, other costumed folks," witness Geoff Goldberg said. "They've notoriously had issues with him in the past."
Onlookers cheered him on as he put the man in a headlock. The web-slinging protector also kicked and punched the mischief-maker. Goldberg captured the epic standoff and posted it on Twitter, saying "Spider-Man saves the day in Times Square."
There were no immediate reports of any arrests.
It's not clear if this is the same Spider-Man who allegedly punched a cop in July 2014 near the same location. Charges in that case were eventually dropped against a man named Junior Bishop.
In Nov. 2012, the self-described superhero Phoenix Jones, who is also an MMA fighter, knocked out a guy who was shouting racist slurs on a Seattle street.
