WATCH: Indy-League Teams Go At In Epic, Unusual Brawl
Ah, summer. When you can just relax with a baseball game, be it a Major League game, a Minor League game, or even one of the games of your local independent teams, with a cold beer in one hand and a hot dog in another. Summer is also known for giving us some great entertainment over at the cinema, where action blockbusters dominate year in and year out. Cinematic brawls we've already seen thus far include Captain America: Civil War and The Shallows, which have featured some crazy battles we won't forget any time soon, like Captain American vs Iron Man and Blake Lively vs A Shark.
Sometimes, like July 14's game between the independent New Jersey Jackals and Rockland Boulders, those two summer pleasures come together in one super explosive show.

In a game for position in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball (commonly referred to as the Can-Am League), held at Rockland's Palisades Credit Union Park in Ponoma, NY, Jackals closer Fernando Cruz ran from his own dugout...while play is in session in the top of the 10th inning...to go after someone in the Boulders dugout. Before he can reach his intended target, however, Cruz is brought down by an unidentified member of the Boulders bench, causing both benches to clear.
Cruz was restrained by manager Joe Calfapietra before he could make another attempt at his Rockland target. The fracas was a bit of a sequel to what occurred in the bottom half of the previous inning. Brought in to close out an 8-3 New Jersey lead, Cruz could not seal the deal, allowing the Boulders to tie the game and send it to extras. Rockland's rally pressed forward when Cruz hit Marcus Nidiffer with a pitch, causing both dugouts to empty, albeit with no incidents (seen at 4:53 in the above video). For his efforts, Cruz was suspended five games by the league. Rockland would win the game in the bottom half of the extra frame, leaving with a 9-8 victory.
To their credit, the Jackals are making light of the incident, humorously promoting their upcoming home game at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, NJ with an Instagram post referencing Cruz's epic trek.
