Zach Johnson won the 2015 Open Championship Monday afternoon following an exciting four-hole playoff with Louis Oosthuizen and Mark Leishman.
"I don't know if I can summarize it," an emotional Johnson told ESPN's Tom Rinaldi. "I've come a long way since 2007. I've come along in my golf career. This really puts things in perspective for me."
"Why?" Rinaldi asked, sensing he had an opportunity to coax Johnson into revealing some deeper truth about his life that would bring out the tears.
"Because I play golf for a living and I'm grateful for that. It's a beautiful game, it provides great opportunity and I'm a product of great people," Johnson said in between sobs.
"I'm just so thankful."
