Schwarber Makes Best Catch in Left Field Ever – By a Catcher
Playing against the Brewers Wednesday night, Cubs rookie Kyle Schwarber was playing in left field because the Cubs desperately need his big bat in their lineup, despite the fact he came up through their system as a catcher.
Well, he’s definitely a good “catcher,” as evidenced by this amazing catch running toward the ivy-covered left-field wall at Wrigley Field.
As amazing as the catch was, he made a second awesome move by flipping the ball out of the glove over to center fielder Dexter Fowler, after tumbling to the ground.
I submit to you, that if he flips that ball (which also took his glove off his hand, too) past Fowler, that runner from second base would not only have moved over to third, but he also would have scored easily.
Kudos to you, Mr. Schwarber – and half-kudos to Fowler, for not fouling it all up.
