We all know that DeAndre Jordan is a terrible free throw shooter. His numbers at the charity stripe (43.9%) are legitimately worse than Steph Curry’s are behind the three point line (45.3%). Hack-A-Shaq has officially turned into Hack-A-DeAndre and Jordan’s troubles at the foul line has turned a very productive player into a late game nuisance.
So last night, Gerald Henderson thought he would help out his good buddy DeAndre. Sure, Henderson plays for the Blazers, but as a former Duke Blue Devil he felt it was his obligation to be smug. As Henderson stepped up to the free throw line in the first quarter in last night’s Clippers/Blazers game he told DeAndre to “watch this shit”. You can probably guess what happened next.
We think our favorite part is when Henderson has to put his tail between his legs and get back on defense. He’s clearly begging Jordan not to say something because he just got completely owned. For good measure the Clippers beat the Blazers 96-94. Jordan finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds, going a sterling 6 for 16 (37.5%) from the line. Meanwhile, Henderson had just nine points to go along with three rebounds. He went 2-4 (50%) from the the free throw line, which just isn’t that much better than Jordan’s night.
So the Blue Devils get blown out last night and Gerald Henderson makes a fool of himself? What a time to be alive. Unless you’re a fan of DeAndre Jordan’s Texas A&M team. Yeah, things didn’t exactly go well for them last night either.
