If you haven't heard about Zion Williamson, the 6'7" junior out of Spartanburg, South Carolina, than chances are you are probably living in a bubble. This 17 year old hit the scene over the past year with his infamous dunking abilities. It's surreal to watch such a young kid do some of the things he does.
Williamson has been compared to a Lebron James and Draymond Green. But, I take it back to before my time, and compare him to a Dominique Wilkins. With his versatility and ability to even hit the three ball, Williamson can do it all. I have not seen a dominant high school player like this since Lebron James.
Williamson is ranked second nationally in the 2018 class behind Marvin Bagley. Every year gets better for the young man, where as a junior at Spartanburg Day High School he averages a double double by scoring 36 points and adding 13 rebounds. But offense isn't the only aspect of his game. Williamson also averages 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.
What he does can not be considered dunking. It would be in the category 'flying'.
With offers from the biggest school's in the country such as Kentucky, Kansas, Louisville, UCLA, and many more, Williamson will have a lot to think about where he will take his talents. But one thing is for sure, the young man still has one more year in high school and definitely has a bright future. I'm excited to see what he can do at the next level.
