Find out why the Vegas Golden Knights are a futures bet you need to make before it’s too late
The Vegas Golden Knights look poised to make a run at the Stanley Cup. You can still get this team in the FanDuel Sportsbook at +850 to win it all, the third-best odds on the board. The way they are playing that number will be gone by the end of the week. The Colorado Avalanche are still the favorites, while Tampa and Vegas are tied for the second spot. The Golden Knights deserve to be the favorites to win the Stanley cup. Vegas is the best team in hockey.
Now granted, we don’t know how it’s going to match up in these crazy divisions this year. We don’t know if they’re going to be the hottest team in the playoffs last year like the Dallas Stars were. But in terms of top to bottom talent, experience, netminding, and coaching, they are the best hockey team. And again, you can get them at almost 10-1 to win the Stanley cup. It’s practically a guarantee that they’re going to be in the final four. The way that Western Division is looking right now, Minnesota, St. Louis not as good. The Knights also look better than Colorado, but that obviously is going to be the matchup. The Avs are the favorites right now. I think Colorado is a little, they remind me of the Milwaukee Bucks a little bit, a bit of a paper tiger, all offense, not a ton of defense.
The rest of that division is absolute trash; the Sharks, the Yotes, the Ducks, the Kings. None of those teams are good at all. So Vegas will feast all year on bad teams, where on the other side of the bracket in the East, it’s going to be more challenging. Look at that Eastern Conference standings right now; it is an absolute bear. Look at those teams; Washington, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philly, even the Islanders, and the Rangers are better. New Jersey is also better than people think. Just no easy outs in the Eastern Conference. Whereas the West they’re worse than people think. So Vegas has the advantage that they’re not going to get run down over the course of a 50 something games season with easier opponents.
