Flyers vs. Devils Preview
After the NHL realigned their divisions to reduce travel, the East Division is shaping up to be the toughest and deepest of them all. Tonight we get another high-quality matchup with the Devils hosting the Flyers.
Philadelphia looks to start backup goalie Brian Elliott in place of Carter Hart. Hart (4.18 goals-against average) has clearly struggled in net for the Flyers, and head coach Alain Vigneault has decided to give him a night off to clear his head. If the Flyers can get some consistency at the goaltender position, there’s no reason why they wouldn’t be able to challenge for the division. Philadelphia has put the puck in the net 20 times this season, but they’ve allowed 22 goals on their end.
The Devils have only scored 11 goals this season, which amounts to just 2.20 goals per game. Defensively they’ve been pretty stingy in allowing just two goals per game, which has them tied for third in the league.
If you’re looking for some action in this game, you might want to consider playing this one for a total of 5.5 goals. Keep in mind that the Devils are 4-1 to the under to start the season.
