ESPN’s Malika Andrews reports that Kyrie Irving will not travel with the Nets to Memphis for their Friday night game against the Grizzlies.
The Nets are coming off a 122-109 win over the Sixers on Thursday night. Irving was ruled out as a late scratch and now could miss his second consecutive game. Head coach Steve Nash intimated that he wasn’t aware Irving would miss the game until later in the day. The reason for his absence is being described as personal, and it’s unclear at this time if Irving still plans to travel on his own and rejoin the team in Memphis.
Brooklyn is already without Kevin Durant, who is undergoing NBA COVID-19 protocols after contact tracing determined he could be a possible risk for transmission.
The Nets are currently -1.5-point favorites for tonight’s game as they try to go for their third consecutive win in four days.
