Report: “Growing Sentiment” DeShaun Watson is Done With Texans

Watson’s displeasure with the Texans has reached a point where the relationship may not be salvageable. The Texans are still holding out hope that they can rectify the situation, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports there is a “growing sentiment” that Watson has played his last snap in Houston. The relationship started to go bad when the Texans shipped DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals, but things got much worse after the Texans told him they would consult him in the hiring process and then went ahead and did whatever they wanted.
If Houston is forced to move on from their franchise quarterback, there will be a host of teams interested in his services. The Jets and Dolphins both have a top-three pick in the upcoming draft – which would give the Texans the chance to land a replacement for Watson – and they have additional first-round picks as well. Both teams are also in the market for a quarterback, which makes them logical landing spots. Miami already has an elite defense and would become legitimate title contenders with Watson under center.
