The PAC 12 did not fare well in terms of getting credit reflected in the rankings. I can’t believe they have Oklahoma and Iowa State, both with two losses ahead of an undefeated USC team. Especially when we see Ohio State sitting at 5-0 and No. 4 in the country with basically the same body of work up until this point. The reason for Ohio State is based on their performance last year, where they push Clemson to the limit but lost.
If USC played Oklahoma or Iowa state right now, this coming Saturday, they are a favorite. They are clearly one of the top-ten teams in the nation and can push for a top-four spot.
As long as they dominate the Oregon Ducks, they are deserved. They have a Heisman Trophy candidate at the quarterback position in Kedon Slovis, two big-play wide receivers in Tyler Vaughns and Amon-Ra St. Brown. USC also has Drake London, one of the best tight ends in college football.
Don’t forget their defense. On defense, they are very athletic and can run sideline to sideline.
So I think if they matched up against Iowa state, they would be favored in that match up and they’d be a pick-em against Oklahoma and Spencer Rattler. They definitely have the inside edge in terms of experience at the quarterback position.
