Josh Allen Finally Gets Some Respect in Updated NFL MVP Odds
There are only a handful of teams that are without a loss in the 2020 season. One of these teams is the Buffalo Bills, thanks in large part to the strong play of quarterback Josh Allen. He has clearly progressed as a player, and his improved play is finally being recognized.
Heading into the 2020 season, Allen was No. 15 in the NFL MVP odds. After just three weeks of strong play, the Bills' signal-caller already has the league's fifth-best odds to win the award.
Aside from the perfect 3-0 record, Allen has the individual stats to back up his MVP odds. He has completed 71.1 percent of his passes for 1,038 yards while tossing 10 touchdowns to 1 interception. That puts him on a 16-game pace to throw for 5,536 yards with 53 touchdowns to just 6 interceptions.
While Allen's progression was as a passer, he's still a threat on the ground. He's turned 22 carries into 84 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns this season.
Heading into Week 4, Allen trails only four players in the MVP odds — Russell Wilson (+220), Patrick Mahomes (+380), Aaron Rodgers (+700) and Lamar Jackson (+850).
