DWIGHT HOWARD IS A POPULAR PICK ON THE FINAL DAY
Once again, this is the last day of the NBA regular season which means most playoff teams won’t be playing all their starters. We saw that last night as the Hawks only played their studs for the first half. Not only does that open up new players from their roster, but that also lessens their defense as seen when their backups were killed by the Raptors.
Focus on the teams that need to win, or ones that already out of the playoffs and just playing their younger guys to get them time on the court.
Dwight Howard, C, Lakers (vs. HOU)
$7,600 at DraftKings.com
For only $7,600, Howard is going to be the top option and will be on almost everyone’s teams. The Lakers need to win and Howard has taken up a bigger offensive role since Kobe’s injury. Of course, the Jazz have to win their game which is played 2.5 hours earlier. Steve Blake is also a great value option.
Mo Williams, G, Jazz (at MEM)
$5,500 at DraftKings.com
The Jazz are in a must-win situation and have to face the Grizzlies who will more than likely be the 5-seed in the Western Conference. Williams doesn’t cost much and has been playing well lately. If you have the money, Goran Dragic will be a better point guard option.
Andray Blatche, F/C, Nets (vs. DET)
$3,300 at DraftKings.com
The Nets already rested most of their starters last game and will likely do the same against the Pistons. He finished with 20 points and 12 boards last time around and only costs $3,300. On the other end of the court, Greg Monroe is a solid play if you have the money.
Norris Cole, G, Heat (vs. ORL)
$3,200 at DraftKings.com
Cole played 43 minutes last game and almost got a triple-double. He’ll be on a lot of lists, but if you like going with the flow, he’s a nice option. On the other end of the court, Tobias Harris and Nikola Vucevic should be able to have great games against the Heat’s subs.
Will Barton, G, Trailblazers (vs. GS)
$4,100 at DraftKings.com
Barton continues to start and play 30-plus minutes every night. He’s been averaging close to 30 Fantasy Points every night for the past five games. Teammate Damian Lillard is also a surprisingly top option on the Blazers.
Overall, you have to play smart and get players that will play the entire game.
My lineup at DraftKnigs.com looks like this: Lillard, Barton, Dragic, Tobias Harris, Blatche, Howard, Cole and Vucevic.
More players to look at: Tristan Thompson, Kemba Walker, Bismack Biyombo, Josh McRoberts.
