GERALD WALLACE IS UNDERRATED IN THE PLAYOFFS
I don’t think anyone was surprised, or at least they shouldn’t have been, as every home team came away with a win in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs. That translates to Fantasy in that you should grab as many home players as possible, for the first two games of the series at least.
There’s only two games on Monday which means pickings will be tough.
Gerald Wallace, SF/PF, Nets (vs. CHI)
$3,800 at DraftKings.com
Not many people I played against had him on Saturday which is surprising because he’s a starter that’s under $4,000. He was $3,100 in Game 1 and still comes in pretty cheap for Monday. Wallace played 37 minutes and will continue to see that kind of time because he’s a good player, although he hasn’t shown it in the past month.
Brook Lopez, C, Nets (vs. CHI)
$7,300 at DraftKings.com
I’ll take Lopez for $2,000 less than Deron Williams any game. I know Williams played great in the first game, but so did Lopez. Without a healthy Joakim Noah, Lopez controls the paint against the Bulls and that will be the case in every game until Noah shows he can play more.
Jerryd Bayless, PG/SG, Grizzlies (at LAC)
$4,900 at DraftKings.com
He was one of the few Memphis players to look halfway decent in the first game and he doesn’t cost much. While 19 points may not happen again, Baylee will continue to see plenty of playing time and that’s what you look for below $5,000.
Chauncey Billups, PG/SG, Clippers (vs. MEM)
$3,100 at DraftKings.com
Billups has been on the injury report often this year, but looked better last game. I mean, he’s only $100 above the minimum at DraftKings, he’s an easy addition to any team. Billups is still a guy that can make plays and won’t hamper your squad.
Chris Paul, PG, Clippers (vs. MEM)
$9,000 at DraftKings.com
I’ve been going back and forth between him and Deron Williams and I decided on Paul. While he may not get as many minutes, Paul is an easier player to trust. Paul averaged four more Fantasy Points per game than Williams even though he played three less minutes per game on the season.
More players to look at: Carlos Boozer, Marc Gasol, Jimmy Butler, Caron Butler.
