Here are some player tidbits before we get started. Tyson Chandler is a game-time decision. Kenyon Martin will get the start again if he’s out. Marco Belinelli and Joakim Noah are also GT decisions, but neither is expected to play. Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson are the players to know.
As for the Heat, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Mario Chalmers are all out for their game against the Knicks. Chris Bosh will have another major role, but cheaper players like Norris Cole and Shane Battier might be just as good value. Steve Nash is also ruled out for the Lakers which means Steve Blake gets the start.
There are only three games tonight, so make your selections wisely. Nothing pops out based on defensive efficiency, but we can still make some valuable picks.
Jimmy Butler, G/F, Bulls (at WAS): $5,100 at DraftKings.com
$5,200 at FanDuel.com
Due to injuries, Butler has been a great mid-range level player. He’s getting about 10 more Fantasy Points per game than teammate Taj Gibson yet costs about the same. Due to injuries he’s getting close to 40 minutes per night which has produced favorable results for him.
Kobe Bryant, G/F, Lakers (vs. DAL): $10,100 at DraftKings.com
$9,500 at DraftStreet.com
It’s not a surprise that he’s playing through injury and playing well. I’m going with Kobe above Dwight Howard because he’s had more success against the Mavs this year. Kobe said his foot was messed up, yet finished with 19 points, nine boards and 14 assists against the Kings in the last game.
Darren Collison, G, Mavericks (at Lakers): $4,900 at DraftKings.com
$4,500 at DraftStreet.com
Collison has fallen off a lot this year, but the Lakers have been known recently to be terrible against point guards. Expect his assist total to be closer to 10 rather than the three he had last game.
Here are more players to check out in good situations: Norris Cole has seen his time jump lately and it’s not just because of injuries. The Heat want to get him more minutes before the playoffs. J.R. Smith has been playing out of his mind recently and is starting to show some consistency for once in his career. He’s significantly less than teammate Carmelo Anthony, yet hasn’t been that much worse. Jodie Meeks and Antawn Jamison has both been providing decent worth lately and can be had for cheap.
