MARC GASOL KNOWS THIS IS THE GRIZZLIES LAST CHANCE
Surprisingly, prices have dropped for Thursday’s games and players like LeBron James and Chris Paul are now under $9,000 at DraftKings. For James, he spent most of the season above the $11,000 mark so the move to have his price so low is really questionable. The only problem with low prices is that mostly everyone tends to capitalize on them. For instance, in my 10-player league last night every player on the winning team was owned by at least 50 percent of people in that league. That’s unfortunate because it doesn’t really show the savviness of getting a cheaper player and having him doing really well for your squad. No matter, let’s try and get that winning team for tonight.
As I already mentioned, James and Paul are going to be easy additions for anyone at this point.
Joakim Noah, PF/C, Bulls (vs. BKN)
$4,400 at DraftKings.com
While he is battling a foot problem and will only be playing around 25 minutes again, his price still makes him a good value. Last game he produced a double-double and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him do that again on his home court. Noah is much better than anyone else near the same price range.
C.J. Watson, PG, Nets (at CHI)
$3,700 at DraftKings.com
Joe Johnson is also dealing with plantar fasciitis and is a game-time decision. If he misses out, it will open up more time for Watson. Of course, Keith Bogans will probably get the start if Johnson misses, but I’m not going to trust a guy that hasn’t scored in the first two games of the series.
Larry Sanders, PF/C, Bucks (vs. MIA)
$4,200 at DraftKings.com
Is anyone else questioning why John Henson is more expensive than Brandon Jennings and Henson? It makes no sense at all, but at least we can capitalize on it. Sanders has been in foul trouble the last two games, but I have a hunch he will turn things around at home. If he stays out of foul trouble, a project a double-double performance from him.
Marc Gasol, C, Grizzlies (vs. LAC)
$7,200 at DraftKings.com
Now that we’ve gotten most of the cheapies out of the way, we can start breaking the bank. Gasol is an easy addition for only $7,200. You know he’s going to get good playing time and you know the Grizzlies are going to give everything in their first home game. Expect better numbers from Gasol in Game 3.
Luol Deng, SF, Bulls (vs. BKN)
$6,400 at DraftKings.com
Deng was back to his usual self in Game 2 and was a main reason the Bulls came away with the win. For his price tag, you can’t get much better and I expect Deng to put in another worthy performance. While matching his numbers from last game is a longshot, I think he’ll be good for at least 30 Fantasy Points.
More players to look at: Mike Conley, Brook Lopez, Monta Ellis, Gerald Wallace, Mario Chalmers.
