RUSSELL WESTBROOK IS TOO CHEAP TO PASS UP
Because of players getting rest at the end of the regular season (and others not), some of the values are skewed at DraftKings. We’ve seen it since Game 1 when LeBron wasn’t the most expensive player and he still isn’t. That’s why Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard are the two most expensive players in the Daily game right now because they both played until the final game of the regular season. Meanwhile, players like Russell Westbrook continue to come in at a bargain because he rested in the last game of the season. Good for us, and hopefully your opponent doesn’t capitalize on the same situation.
Russell Westbrook, PG, Thunder (vs. HOU)
$8,500 at DraftKings.com
Just look at his numbers last game, he played only 30 minutes yet had 48 Fantasy Points. The Thunder probably won’t win by 29 points again which means Westbrook’s minutes will go up and possibly his numbers. For $1,500 less than Pau Gasol, there’s not many reasons not to get Westbrook.
Kevin Martin, SG, Thunder (vs. HOU)
$4,000 at DraftKings.com
He’s one of the cheapest players out there and is someone you know is going to play and probably score. After missing three straight games due to a back injury, Martin played in the first playoff game and didn’t shoot well, but still managed 16 points. At his price, you can’t do worse.
Devin Harris, PG/SG, Hawks (at IND)
$3,900 at DraftKings.com
Fitting in the same mold as Martin is Harris who played 40 minutes last game. While he didn’t do much, it’s a good sign that he’s playing a ton. I mean, look at his teammate Mike Scott who’s actually more expensive than Harris. Scott played one minute in Game 1.
Roy Hibbert, C, Pacers (vs. ATL)
$5,400 at DraftKings.com
Here’s yet another player that doesn’t cost a ton. Hibbert doesn’t put up huge numbers and he doesn’t play 40 minutes per game, but he will be consistent. He’ll get you a few blocks and can easily post a double-double due to his size.
Kawhi Leonard, SG/SF, Spurs (vs. LAL)
$5,700 at DraftKings.com
He’s an athletic dude that gets playing time with the Spurs because he’s an athletic dude. Leonard can do it all defensively and offensively and comes in around the mid-level price range.
By going cheap on all these players, you’ll have plenty to spend on some of the bigger names out there.
More players to look at: Paul George, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Kevin Durant, Pau Gasol and Thabo Sefolosha.
