WHO CAN STEP UP IN KOBE’S ABSENCE?
It’s the last Sunday of the regular season and there are 16 teams in action. Last night was taken over by some new players like Josh McRoberts and Markieff Morris. Maybe the same will happen today. Without Kobe Bryant, who’s going to step up for the Lakers? Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol, or both?
Pau Gasol, F/C, Lakers (vs. SAS)
$8,100 at DraftKings.com
Gasol’s ability to pass gives him the edge over Howard. Not to mention he’s had at least 40 Fantasy Points in four straight games and is coming off a triple-double. The Spurs will be tough, but Gasol isn’t all that expensive at $8,100 at DK.
Wilson Chandler, G/F, Nuggets (vs. POR)
$6,000 at DraftKings.com
Andre Iguodala has gotten a $1,000 price bump which cuts him out of the equation. Chandler is sitting at the nice area of $6,000 and as of late has performed better than that. The return of Ty Lawson doesn’t hurt him much, either.
James Harden, G/F, Rockets (vs. SAC)
$8,600 at DraftKings.com
You know there’s going to be a lot of points in this game and Harden should easily get to the 40 FP mark. Jeremy Lin is a sneakier option, but you can’t really trust him as much. Greg Smith is another good value play for the Rockets as he’s been providing roughly 20 FP per game and could get extended time if the Rockets win big.
Amir Johnson, F/C, Raptors (vs. BKN)
$4,800 at DraftKings.com
As long as Jonas Valanciunas misses out again, Johnson is a great value pick. Valanciunas didn’t practice yesterday which is a good sign. Johnson has gotten 40 minutes in the last two games and that trend will likely continue if Valanciunas is out.
Another solid play is Thaddeus Young who is playing well and has a great matchup.
