Alexander Semin is a solid DFS play Tuesday
The National Hockey League has nine games on tap Tuesday, Oct. 14, with one nationally-televised game (Buffalo-Carolina, 7:30pm NBCSN).
(DraftDay.com salaries in parentheses) (all times ET)
Jhonas Enroth, G, Buffalo ($12750 at CAR): Sabres backup goaltender Michal Neuvirth had the chance to make inroads on the starting gig, but he was bombed by Anaheim Monday. The team is expected to turn back to incumbent starter Enroth Tuesday, and he will be facing a Carolina Hurricanes squad which is missing C Eric Staal, C Jordan Staal and W Jeff Skinner due to injury. The Canes lack offensive punch, and that should make Enroth a fabulous value.
Karri Ramo, G, Calgary ($12700 at NSH): Ramo picked up a victory in his initial start of the season, stopping 38 of 40 shots in Edmonton. He and Jonas Hiller are jockeying for the starting job in Calgary, and it should be a spirited battle early on.
Tyler Bozak, C, Toronto ($9450 vs COL): Bozak has been white hot for the Buds, posting goals in each of his first three games. During the impressive span, he has two shots on goal (SOG) in each outing, and he has blocked a shot in each of the past two for added Fantasy value. It is his minus-2 rating which is the only thing holding his salary down.
Michael Cammalleri, C-LW, New Jersey ($11550 at TB): Cammalleri has always had a penchant for scoring goals in bunches, and this season he is doing it right out of the gate. He has three goals through his team's first two games with a whopping 10 SOG and one blocked shot. He is a great value in a potential fire wagon hockey game Tuesday.
Alexander Semin, LW-RW, Carolina ($10800 vs BUF): The offensive cupboard is pretty bare in Raleigh right now, as most of the team's snipers are in the treatment room and hopping in the whirlpool for rehab rather than hopping over the dasher. Semin remains healthy, however, and he could put up big Fantasy stat lines on the top scoring unit.
Brayden McNabb, D, Los Angeles ($5000 vs EDM): McNabb has played plenty of minutes early on with D Jake Muzzin dealing with an injury. He has blocked three shots to this point, and he has posted two SOG. He won't likely do much offensively, but his blocked shots and plus/minus rating could be a plus, and his salary will help you with a few extra dollars to spend elsewhere.
