ALFONSO SORIANO IS A MUST-START WEDNESDAY IN DAILY PLAY
A lot of Fantasy players either set daily lineups, or play in daily Fantasy leagues such as Draft Kings, Fantasy Feud, etc. During the course of the season, each day in Major League Baseball, we'll have a short and sweet blog to help guide you with your lineup decisions. And, in the late afternoon/early evening on busy nights in MLB, we'll have an updated blog with injury news, lineup changes, etc. to help you set the best possible lineup and pad your bank account.
For Wednesday, April 10, there are 15 games in Major League Baseball, with one afternoon game. The N.Y. Yankees-Cleveland (7:05pm ET, ESPN2) is nationally televised. The Toronto-Detroit (1:08pm ET) game is also available free at MLB.com. (DraftKings.com salaries provided in parentheses with a DK designation, DailyJoust.com with a DJ designation)

PICK UP THESE SIX
David DeJesus, OF, Chicago Cubs ($3,900 DK, $69K DJ vs. MIL): DeJesus has done tremendously well in his career against Milwaukee Brewers SP Kyle Lohse ($2,000 DK, $284K DJ) in his career, going 12-for-26 (.462) with three extra-base hits (double, triple, home run) and four RBI. DeJesus also had a three-hit game Tuesday. Beware of the weather, however.
Miguel Montero, C, Arizona ($4,200 DK, $94K DJ vs. PIT): Montero has rolled up five hits in 12 at-bats (.417) with two home runs and three RBIs with a 1.378 OPS in his career against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Jonathan Sanchez ($2,000 DK, $151K DJ).
Mike Moustakas, 3B, Kansas City ($3,500 DK, $79K vs. MIN): Moustakas has been fantastic in limited action against Minnesota Twins SP Liam Hendriks ($3,000 DK, $155K DJ), collective five hits in six career at-bats against the Twins hurler, and he had four RBI. Like DeJesus above, be careful as this is a dangerous weather game. Make sure to have plenty of alternates at the ready.
Albert Pujols, 1B, L.A. Angels ($5,000 DK, $123K DJ vs. OAK): Pujols has been successful against Oakland Athletics SP Tommy Milone ($7,900 DK, $288K DJ) in eight career at-bats, posting four doubles and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Jonathan Sanchez, SP, Pittsburgh ($2,000 DK, $151K DJ at ARI): Pitching rarely, if ever, comes this cheap. Scooping up Sanchez at this price level, even if he has a marginal performance, will basically allow you to load up with the best of the best at ever other position. Over the past three seasons, Sanchez is 3-1 with a 4.15 ERA in five starts over 26 innings with 19 walks and 35 strikeouts against the Diamondbacks, so he has had some measure of success.
Alfonso Soriano, OF, Chicago Cubs ($4,200 DK, $82K DJ vs. MIL): Soriano has owned Lohse over his career, and the sample size is larger than most. He has 20 career hits in 53 at-bats (.377) with four doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI. He has a .679 slugging percentage and 1.079 OPS in his career against Lohse.
SIX THAT AREN'T WORTH SPIT
Everth Cabrera, SS, San Diego ($4,100 DK, $67K DJ vs. LAD): Cabrera is probably sad to see Los Angeles Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley ($8,800 DK, $284K DJ) (finger) come off the 15-day disabled list to make this start. Cabrera has managed just one hit with four strikeouts in 14 career at-bats against the Dodgers veteran.
Alcides Escobar, SS, Kansas City ($4,200 DK, $90K DJ vs. MIN): Unlike his teammate Moustakas, Escobar has struggled in his career against Hendriks. He has managed just one hit in eight career at-bats (.125), and that hit was a single.
J.J. Hardy, SS, Baltimore ($3,400 DK, $82K DJ at BOS): Hardy isn't a very good play in his game against Boston Red Sox SP Ryan Dempster ($9,100 DK, $258K DJ). Hardy has posted just two hits in 27 career at-bats (.074) with seven strikeouts against the veteran starter.
Mike Minor, SP, Atlanta ($8,700 DK, $362K DJ at MIA): While this current Marlins lineup is night and day compared to past years, Minor is still just 1-2 with a 5.05 ERA in seven career starts against the Marlins. As such, he isn't a great play because of his huge salary figure. There are so many more affordable options on the board.
Hunter Pence, OF, San Francisco ($3,900 DK, $84K DJ): Pence carries a seven-game hitting streak into this game, but he'll be hard-pressed to make it eight in a row with Colorado Rockies SP Jeff Francis ($6,300 DK, $181K DJ) on the hill. Pence has collected just three hits in 17 at-bats (.176) in his career with three RBI and three strikeouts.
Troy Tulowitzki, SS, Colorado ($4,900 DK, $123 DJ): Tulowitzki has struggled mightily in his career against San Francisco Giants SP Barry Zito ($6,400 DK, $280K DJ), collecting just six hits in 41 at-bats (.146) with eight strikeouts. Avoid.
Cleveland Indians SP Brett Myers ($6,100 DK, $200K DJ) was scheduled to face the New York Yankees Wednesday, but he was needed in long relief after SP Carlos Carrasco was ejected Tuesday night. Avoid Myers. The Indians haven't announced a replacement starter, but keep an eye on the matchup. It might be a good idea to load up on Yankees, especially the red hot 2B Robinson Cano ($5,000 DK, $129K DJ).
