BEST TEAMS TO 'STACK' WITH - Texas Rangers hitters vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim LHP C.J. Wilson
(DraftKings.com salaries in parantheses)
The Rangers have rattled off 13 wins over their past 17 road games, and they are 9-2 in their past 11 games against a left-handed starter. The Rangers have also won 39 of their past 53 divisional games, and they are 24-10 in their past 34 games overall. Over Matt Garca's past five starts, the Rangers are 4-1, and they are 5-1 in Garza's past six outings against a team with a losing record. While the Angels are 5-1 in their past six against a right-handed starter, they have won just one of their past seven home games, and they are 1-7 in their past eight home games against a right-handed starter. The Angels are also a dismal 1-9 in their past 10 home games against a team with a winning record. Texas has won four straight in Anaheim, and the Rangers have ripped off seven consecutive victories in this series.
THESE EIGHT WILL BE GREAT
Adrian Beltre, 3B, Texas ($4000 at LAA): Beltre is hitless over his past nine at-bats, which is actually a good thing. His daily salary has slid to a ridiculously low level for what he is capable. He is hitting a robust .344 against left-handed pitching with eight doubles, eight homers, 21 RBI and a 1.007 OPS in 128 at-bats. He is also 11-for-30 (.367) with four doubles, a homer, five RBI and a 1.041 OPS all-time against his former teammate Wilson.
Michael Cuddyer, OF, Colorado ($4500 at SD): No one has been hotter than Cuddyer lately. Over the past seven days, he is hitting a Major League best .526 (10-for-19) with three runs scored, two doubles, a home run, six RBI and a 1.313 OPS in five games played. He is hitting .348 with 17 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, 59 RBI and a gaudy .957 OPS against right-handed pitching, so the good times should continue to roll.
Edwin Encarnacion, 1B, Toronto ($4,900 at MIN): Encarnacion has rapped three doubles with two homers, four RBI, five walks and a 1.547 OPS over his past six games, and that leads the American League over the past seven days.
Jose Fernandez, SP, Miami ($9900 vs. WAS): Fernandez has been ridiculous this season. He went 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA in six starts in the month of August, 3-1 with a 2.06 ERA in five starts in July, including a win against Washington July 13, and 2-1 with a 1.67 ERA in five starts in the month of June. He has not lost back-to-back starts or decisions since April 18-23.
Ian Kinsler, 2B, Texas ($3600 at LAA): Kinsler carries a .318 average against left-handed pitching into this one, and he has a respectable .812 OPS against southpaws this season. It isn't much of a sample size, but in 13 career at-bats against his former teammate Wilson, Kinsler is 6-for-13 (.462) with a double, triple, homer, three RBI and a 1.486 OPS.
Yusmeiro Petit, SP, San Francisco ($4500 vs. ARI): You have to think the bottom will drop out on Petit sooner or later, but at this ridiculously low salary, he is worth a look. The Maracaibo, VZ native struck out 10 batters in his last outing in Arizona Sunday, allowing just two runs over six innings against his former team. He gets another crack at the Snakes in this one.
Alex Rios, OF, Texas ($4000 at LAA): Rios is hitting .311 vs. LHP this season with eight doubles, four homers, 19 RBI and an .838 OPS in 119 at-bats. He is 6-for-16 (.375) with a double, solo home run and 1.000 OPS in four games in the month of September.
Denard Span, OF, Washington ($3900 at MIA): Span carries a 17-game hitting streak into play in Miami Friday. He is hitting .406 with a .551 slugging percentage during the impressive run, and he has scored 11 runs while driving in five.
