CHAUNCEY BILLUPS COULD BE A SNEAKY PLAY ON OPENING NIGHT II
Welcome to opening night in the National Basketball Association, part deux. There are 14 games, with the Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat and Orlando Magic already playing their second games of the season. The Brooklyn-Cleveland (7:00pm ET) and L.A. Lakers-Golden State (10:30pm ET) games are nationally televised on NBATV.

THESE EIGHT WILL BE GREAT
Patrick Beverley, G, Houston ($8410 vs CHA): There are numerous reports that Beverley has beaten out Jeremy Lin ($11985) for the starting point guard job. Whether he does officially start or not, he is expected to see plenty of run, and he will likely well exceed his salary expectations against the Bobcats. As it stands, he is a much better value than Lin.
Chauncey Billups, G, Detroit ($6785 vs WAS): Billups is expected to comprise half of head coach Mo Cheeks' banged up backcourt. The veteran comes with a nice price, and is worth a look to help buy studs at other spots.
Earl Clark, F, Cleveland ($8905 vs BRK): Clark hasn't officially been named the starting small forward, but head coach Mike Brown indicated as recently as Tuesday that he was leaning toward starting the former Lakers' big man. Clark is worth a look as a mid-level salary option.
Vitor Faverani, C, Boston ($6475 at TOR): It appears that the Brazilian import has nipped rookie C Kelly Olynyk ($9235) for the starting center job, although nothing is written in stone and the battle for the starting gig should be an ongoing battle. As it stands, though, Faverani should see more minutes, and he comes with a cheaper price tag.
Moe Harkless, F, Orlando ($8950 at MIN): Harkless became one of my favorite players Tuesday night, hitting a triple in the final 12 seconds in Indianapolis to help the Magic cover a 12-point number. Gambling aside, Harkless was useful most of the night from the floor. He connected on six of his 13 field goal attempts, including both 3-pointer attempts, with 14 points, a rebound and a steal. He comes with a mid-level price tag.
Robin Lopez, C, Portland ($9265 at PHO): Lopez was a very popular sleeper pick on Draft Day in standard Fantasy leagues, and he could get off to a quick start in Phoenix. The Suns didn't exactly excel at team defense last season, and they shipped their best center, Marcin Gortat, to Washington in a preseason deal.
Miles Plumlee, F/C, Phoenix ($3500 vs POR): Plumlee is expected to start in the middle following the Gortat deal. Plumlee comes with such a cap friendly salary.
Peyton Siva, G, Detroit ($7021 vs WAS): The Detroit Free Press is reporting that head coach Mo Cheeks is still weighing his starting backcourt options with Gs Brandon Jennings (jaw) and Rodney Stuckey (thumb) inactive. The Louisville product might get the starting nod ahead of Will Bynum.
Wilson Chandler, Denver ($11330 at SAC): Chandler (hamstring) is already listed on the team's inactive list for the opener, so don't risk it with so many other options available. Rookie G Jordan Hamilton ($5525) could see some extra minutes, and exceed his salary expectations by quite a bit. And Hamilton would save plenty to spend big across the board.
Ty Lawson, G, Denver ($14350 at SAC): Lawson (groin) is considered a game-time decision due to a groin injury. He could very well end up in the starting lineup, but at this price level he is just too risky.
Steve Nash, G, L.A. Lakers ($10840 at GS): As recently as Monday, head coach Mike D'Antoni told the Los Angeles Times that it is possible Nash might not play in the second half of the season's first back-to-back situation. Nash didn't do much in Tuesday's opener against the Clippers, hitting just one field on three attempts for three points, five assists and three turnovers in 21 minutes. Even if he plays, he isn't expected to product anywhere close to his salary.
