DAMIEN WILKINS HEADS UP WEDNESDAY’S DAILY NBA BARGAINS
A lot of Fantasy players either set daily lineups, or play in daily Fantasy leagues such as Draft Kings, Fantasy Feud, etc. During the course of the season, on the busiest days in The Association, we'll have a short and sweet blog to help guide you with your lineup decisions.
For Wednesday, April 3, there are 12 games in the NBA. The New York-Atlanta (7:00pm ET, ESPN) and Memphis-Portland (10:00pm ETm NBATV) games will be televised nationally.
Andray Blatche, PF/C, Brooklyn (at CLE): Blatche has been strong over his past two games, averaging 13.0 points per game (ppg) with 4.5 rebounds per game (rpg) and 3.5 blocks per game (bpg) during the impressive span. Against a Cavaliers defense which is a little soft in the middle, Blatche should have another strong day. He is a nice mid-level Fantasy play in daily formats.
Andrew Bogut, C, Golden State (vs. NO): Bogut is slowly, but surely, re-gaining the trust of Fantasy players over the past couple of weeks. He is averaging 9.0 ppg with 7.0 rpg and 2.5 bpg over his past four games, and he had eight points, nine rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots in the last meeting with the Hornets in New Orleans back on March 18.
Marc Gasol, C, Memphis (at POR): Gasol appears to be over his injury problems, and he is on quite a roll. He has managed 19.3 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.7 apg and 1.7 bpg over his past three games. In formats which reward two points per blocked shot, Gasol has been even more impressive. Look for him to have another giant game against the Blazers, a team not considered strong on the defensive end.
Patrick Patterson, PF/C, Sacramento (vs. HOU): Take a chance on Patterson, who will be facing off against his former team, the Houston Rockets. Patterson was actually atrocious last time out against the Lakers, misfiring on all four of his field goal attempts, going scoreless with four rebounds. However, he had been pretty decent before that. He is a deep sleeper in daily Fantasy formats such as DraftKings.com, and he should be playing with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder in this one.
Damien Wilkins, SF/SG, Philadelphia (at CHA): Wilkens has averaged 13.5 ppg with 3.3 rpg and 3.0 apg over his past six games, and he has managed a total of nine steals per contest during the span. That's especially important if your daily Fantasy provider rewards two points per steal. He is a solid mid-level salary play regardless.
Danny Green, SF/SG, San Antonio (vs. ORL): The swingman has struggled over his past three games, hitting just seven of his past 24 field goal attempts since March 29. He is averaging just 7.0 ppg with 2.3 rpg and 2.7 apg over the span. There is no way he should be selected, even at a tempting low salary.
Andre Iguodala, SF/SG, Denver (at UTA): Iguodala has struggled mightily over the past six games, and he has been especially poor at the offensive end of the past three. He is averaging just 8.3 ppg during the three-game span. His salary is a bit tempting since it is now at a mid-level, but there are so many other good values on the board who are trending upward.
Wes Johnson, SF/SG, Phoenix (at LAC): Johnson had been cooking along last week, but he has had a couple of hiccups this week. Johnson has connected on just nine of his past 23 field goal attempts, averaging 12.5 ppg with 2.0 rpg and 2.0 apg over his past two outings. He had managed 21.5 ppg in his previous two games from March 24-27.
Brandon Knight, PG, Detroit (at BOS): Knight hasn't look all there since returning from injury, connecting on just 12 of his past 38 shots from the field in five games since coming back. He is averaging just 6.2 ppg with 3.2 apg over the five-game stretch, making him way too risky in daily Fantasy leagues like DraftKings.com.
Robin Lopez, C, New Orleans (at GS): Lopez has been terrible over the past two games, hitting just 3-of-9 from the field while averaging just 4.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 1.5 bpg. It appears to be a potentially favorable matchup against a Warriors team that isn't great on the defensive end, but Lopez is just too risky with so many other options available.
