Marc-Andre Fleury is worth your DFS dollars Thursday
The National Hockey League has seven games on tap Thursday, Oct. 16, with one nationally-televised game (Boston-Montreal, 7:30pm NHL Network).
(DraftDay.com salaries in parentheses) (all times ET)
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, Pittsburgh ($21050 vs DAL): According to Vegas, the Penguins are the biggest favorite on the board, and that's a good reason to use Fleury. He has started two games and he has two wins, and now he faces a team he has had great success against over the years. Fleury is 6-1-0 with a 2.10 Goals-Against Average (GAA) in seven career starts against the Stars, so he is a slam-dunk play.
Michael Cammalleri, C-LW, New Jersey ($11450 at WAS): Cammalleri has had a penchant for scoring goals in bunches, and this season he has started out on fire. He has at least one goal in each of his three games so far, posting four goals with an assist and 14 shots on goal (SOG) while also blocking one shot. Until he cools off, keep riding the veteran.
Brock Nelson, C, N.Y. Islanders ($6900 vs SJ): Nelson has been a huge part of the success of the Islanders during the early going, posting four goals with three assists and five SOG through the first three games, lighting the lamp at least once in each outing. Thursday's game is expected to be a high-scoring affair, and Nelson should find himself on the stat sheet yet again.
Tanner Pearson, LW, Los Angeles ($7100 vs STL): Pearson might not have been known by many Fantasy owners just a week ago, but they know him now. He has four goals with two assists and a plus-6 rating over his past three games, including back-to-back multi-point efforts.
Paul Martin, D, Pittsburgh ($5000 vs DAL): Martin enters this game with a minimal DFS salary, but that shouldn't last long. He has too much offensive potential. He picked up an assist last time out, and he has six SOG with three blocked shots over the past two games to go along with a plus-3 rating. He does not necessarily have to score to be productive for Fantasy owners.
Victor Rask, C, Carolina ($5000 at NYR): The Carolina Hurricanes are a banged up bunch, providing opportunities for younger players to step up and show what they can do earlier than expected. Rask centered a line consisting of Jiri Tlusty and Alexander Semin. It won't take much for Rask to meet or exceed salary expectations, and playing alongside the creative Semin could help him to an assist or two.
