MONDAY’S PRE-GAME DAILY FANTASY UPDATE
The interleague series opener between the Miami Marlins and Minnesota Twins has already been postponed due to an approaching rain system which will bring inclement weather to the Twin Cities for an extended period. It is only raining lightly, if at all, at Target Field currently. But, when the rain starts in 30-45 minutes, it will not allow for a baseball game to be played, thus the decision.
The Colorado Rockies are also monitoring the weather, and so should Fantasy owners in daily leagues. The game between the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies could be in jeopardy due to rain, freezing drizzle or light snow tonight at Coors Field. The chances are probably "50-50" that baseball is played in Denver tonight, so it is a good idea to go another way.

(*** UPDATE - 5:13pm ET - The game between the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies has been officially postponed. You have nearly two hours to swap out players from that game, and the Miami Marlins-Minnesota Twins game, for suitable replacements. Good luck!)

BOSTON RED SOX
OF Jonny Gomes (personal) is away from the team for the birth of his child. If it is a boy, I wonder if he will already have a healthy and impressive beard. Anyway, OF Daniel Nava get the start in left field in his stead. OF Shane Victorino (back) is back in the lineup against the Oakland Athletics. He has never faced A's SP A.J. Griffin.
SS Zack Cozart ($4,300) (finger) is in the lineup for Monday's series opener against the Chicago Cubs and former teammate SP Travis Wood ($5,000). That's the good news. The bad news is that he has just one hit in seven career at-bats against Wood. 2B Brandon Phillips ($4,700) has managed only one hit, a double, in six career at-bats against Wood. He also has no RBI or walks in their brief encounters are opponents.
3B Matt Dominguez (elbow) is not in the lineup Monday due to a sore elbow. He was hit by a pitch in Sunday's game, and MLB.com reports he is awaiting precautionary X-rays results. 3B Brandon Laird ($2,000) gets the start at the hot corner, and could be a great Fantasy option if you want to go low at 3B and spend heavier at other positions.
LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM
Manager Mike Scioscia has dropped OF Josh Hamilton ($5,300) to the fifth spot in his order for the series opener against the Texas Rangers and SP Derek Holland ($8,800). He was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts earlier this season in Arlington against his former teammate, and overall he has not been hitting the ball well. 1B/OF Mark Trumbo ($4,500), who delivered a game-winning solo homer in the bottom of the 13th against the Detroit Tigers Sunday, bats cleanup and plays first base, with 1B Albert Pujols ($5,500) (foot) hitting third. Pujols is battling plantar fasciitis in his left foot, and is relegated to DH duties to take some of the stress off of his ailing foot. Trumbo is 8-for-28 (.286) with two doubles, two homers and five RBI against Holland all-time, while Pujols has hit a robust .400 (6-for-15) with two dongs, three RBI and just one strikeout, good for a .933 slugging percentage and 1.371 OPS.
Manager Ron Roenicke moved around his lineup, finally getting 2B Rickie Weeks ($4,700) out of the cleanup spot, a place he looked super uncomfortable. C Jonathan Lucroy ($4,400) will try his hand at batting in the fourth spot in his one. He is 3-for-8 (.375) all-time against San Diego Padres SP Jason Marquis ($6,400). Weeks is just 5-for-18 (.278) lifetime against Marquis, with no RBI. OF Ryan Braun ($6,100) has no homers in his career against Marquis, but he is 11-for-22 (.500) with five doubles, three RBI, three walks and two strikeouts. That's good for a 1.304 OPS.
NEW YORK YANKEES
1B Kevin Youkilis (back) is in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays. He missed Sunday's game due to a tight back. C Francisco Cervelli ($3,500) bats sixth, OF Brennan Boesch ($3,700) is in right field and batting seventh, SS Eduardo Nunez ($4,100) bats eighth, and 1B/OF Jayson Nix ($3,900) handles the duties at third base. Boesch has two hits in three at-bats against Rays SP Matt Moore ($9,700).
(*** UPDATE - 6:31pm ET - Youkilis scratched due to more back tightness during pre-game warm-ups. 1B Lyle Overbay ($3,600) slides into the starting lineup at 1B.)
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
OF Carlos Beltran (rest) is being given the day off from manager Mike Matheny for the series opener against the Washington Nationals. It's a curious move, as Beltran is a career .316 hitter (6-for-19) against Nationals SP Dan Haren ($7,500), whose outlook just got a little brighter. 1B/OF Allen Craig ($5,100) will get the nod in right field, and he will bat second, with 1B Matt Adams ($3,900) getting another start at first base. He'll bat fifth. 3B David Freese ($4,200) is a lifetime .143 hitter (1-for-7) against Haren, and he has struck out twice. Avoid.
(*** UPDATE - 6:02pm ET - Adams experience discomfort/tightness in his oblique during warm-ups, so he has been scratched. Craig moves back to first base, Adams is OUT, and Beltran is, in fact, in the starting lineup)
