Jacob deGrom, SP, N.Y. Mets ($13750 vs Miami): The Mets are a solid bet against the Marlins, especially since New York is 6-1 in his past seven outings. Conversely, the Marlins are 2-10 in Brad Hand's past 12 assignments. DeGrom is a solid source of strikeouts for Daily Fantasy owners, and he doesn't come with all that high of a price tag.
Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP, L.A. Dodgers ($14650 vs San Diego): Ryu has dominated the Padres this season, going 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA with nine strikeouts over 13 innings. He has also limited San Diego batters to a .167 batting average. Over his career, he is 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in three outings against the Padres. It's a good bet the Dodgers will handle their business at home, and Ryu should turn in some impressive Fantasy numbers.
Ian Desmond, SS, Washington ($9050 vs Philadelphia): Desmond is always a solid Daily Fantasy value because of his power potential. He posted a pair of hits with a double and a stolen base Saturday after getting a night off to rest Friday. In his career against Philadelphia Phillies SP Kyle Kendrick, Desmond has posted a .405 average (15-for-37) with two doubles, a triple, two homers and eight RBI with a 1.086 OPS.
Eric Hosmer, 1B, Kansas City ($9700 vs Detroit): Hosmer pushed his hitting streak to 12 games with a single in four at-bats Saturday. He is hitting .425 (20-for-47) with two homers, six RBI and eight runs scored during the impressive run.
Nick Swisher, 1B-OF, Cleveland ($8400 vs Chicago White Sox): Swisher has been atrocious this season, but lately he has shown glimpses of brilliance. He has a solid .272 average (9-for-33) with three homers and nine RBI over the past eight games, raising his average from .194 to .204 just since July 4. And in his career against Chicago White Sox SP John Danks, he is hitting .273 (6-for-22) with two homers, three RBI and a solid .974 OPS.
Nick Punto, 2B-SS, Oakland ($5550 at Seattle): Punto has been getting plenty of playing time with INF Alberto Callaspo (hamstring) on the mend. He comes with a dirt cheap price, and he will allow you to spend heavily at deeper positions.
Ryan Raburn, OF, Cleveland ($5500 vs Chicago White Sox): Raburn should very well be in the starting lineup Sunday, even though his playing time has been rather sporadic this season. That's because he has a career .359 average (14-for-39) with five doubles, three homers, 11 RBI and a 1.140 OPS against the lefty Danks. If he is in the starting nine, he is a must-start, low-risk option.
