SO YOU WANT A BIG TICKET ITEM?
Anthony Davis, PF, New Orleans ($9700 at MIN): The Timberwolves do not exactly play the tightest defense, allowing 101.9 points per game. Davis (finger) suffered a dislocated finger in Tuesday's game against Cleveland, but he was able to return after having the finger popped back into place. He ended up with 30 points, seven rebounds, three assists and an outstanding eight blocked shots, posting 60-plus Fantasy points for the second consecutive game. Davis has gone for 45.2 or more Fantasy points in seven of his past 10 outings.
If you spend big up top, you're going to need some fillers to bring down your average per player salary. Check out these steals from the bargain bin:
Spencer Hawes, C, Philadelphia ($6900 at BOS): Hawes has picked up the pace lately, averaging 15.3 PPG with 9.0 RPG and 2.7 APG over the past three games. He has managed at least 24.7 Fantasy points in each of the games.
J.J. Redick, SG, L.A. Clippers ($5600 vs WAS): Redick has gone for 12 or more points in each of his past five, and eight of his past nine. If you're looking for cheap points and a handful of assists, Redick is a solid Fantasy option. He has averaged 22.2 Fantasy points per game over the past three outings.
Ramon Sessions, PG, Charlotte ($5600 at DEN): Sessions should roll up a strong stat line against a Denver Nuggets scoring defense which allows 103.1 points per game. He dished out 11 assists last time out against Chicago, and he has at least 22.1 Fantasy points in five of his past seven. At this price level, he is a solid addition to any Fantasy lineup.
Jerryd Bayless, PG, Boston ($3800 vs PHI): Keep an eye on Twitter during the day, monitoring whether the Celtics will rest PG Rajon Rondo ($6500) (knee) in a back-to-back situation. He played 27 minutes Tuesday in New York, and he rested last time the club had a back-to-back. If so, Bayless will be a nice value for daily Fantasy owners against an awful scoring defense. Even if Rondo plays, Bayless will play less minutes but might still post a respectable stat line.
Corey Brewer, SF, Minnesota ($4800 vs NO): Brewer has been a nice, cheap daily Fantasy option lately. He has managed at least 11 points in each of his past four games, and he is averaging 2.0 SPG during the span. He has at least 20.9 Fantasy points in each of his past four outings.
Terrence Ross, SG, Toronto ($4600 vs ORL): Ross came back to earth a little bit in Monday's game at Brooklyn, posting 10 points, seven rebounds and 20.4 Fantasy points. He exploded for 51 points and nine rebounds against L.A. Clippers Saturday, and that is obviously an outlier. But if swingman DeMar DeRozan (ankle) is sidelined again, Ross might well exceed his salary expectations. As of now, DeRozan is listed as questionable by the team.
According to Hawks beat writer Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rare winter weather which swept through Atlanta Tuesday might threaten the game between the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks. It might be a good idea to avoid all players from that game, which could be moved to Thursday due to icy roads in the greater Atlanta area. Do yourself a favor and toss @ajchawks a follow on Twitter for the latest, and also @ZachKleinWSB. Those two guys are in the know, and will have the latest info if the game will be played or postponed.
