STARLIN CASTRO IS A POOR DAILY PLAY THURSDAY
A lot of Fantasy players either set daily lineups, or play in daily Fantasy leagues such as Draft Kings, Fantasy Feud, etc. During the course of the season, each day in Major League Baseball, we'll have a short and sweet blog to help guide you with your lineup decisions. And, in the late afternoon/early evening on busy nights in MLB, we'll have an updated blog with injury news, lineup changes, etc. to help you set the best possible lineup and pad your bank account.
For Thursday, April 11, there are eight games in Major League Baseball, with two afternoon games. The Oakland-L.A. Angels (10:05pm ET) game is available free at MLB.com. (DraftKings.com salaries provided in parentheses)

GET YOUR KICKS WITH THESE SIX
Coco Crisp, OF, Oakland ($4,900 at LAA): Crisp has hit well in his career against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Jason Vargas ($6,700), going 12-for-33 (.364) with two doubles, a home run and three RBI. His .417 on-base percentage leads all active A's (min. three ABs) against Vargas.
Jeff Keppinger, 3B, Chicago White Sox ($4,000 at WAS): Keppinger will step into the lineup at second base with 2B Gordon Beckham ($2,900) (wrist) sidelined with a wrist injury. Keppinger will be glad to see Washington Nationals SP Dan Haren ($8,400) on the bump, as Keppinger has managed eight hits in 16 at-bats (.500) with two doubles, a home run and three RBI in his career against Haren.
Paul Konerko, 1B, Chicago White Sox ($4,500 at WAS): Like Keppinger, Konerko hits Haren very well. Paulie has managed seven hits in 19 at-bats (.368) with a home run, two RBI and a solid .895 OPS. With just eight games on the board, Konerko is a must-have.
David Murphy, OF, Texas ($3,900 at SEA): Not many players have had success against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez ($11,800), but Murphy is one of the few exceptions. Murphy has collected 19 hits in 63 at-bats (.302) with four doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI in his career against Hernandez.
Dustin Pedroia, 2B, Boston ($4,800 vs. BAL): It isn't a great sample size, but Pedroia has managed four hits in 11 at-bats against Baltimore Orioles SP Chris Tillman ($ 7,300). Pedroia's .863 OPS leads all active Red Sox against Tillman.
Carlos Quentin, OF, San Diego ($4,500 vs. LAD): Quentin (wrist) did not start Wednesday, missing the game after being plunked just above the wrist in Tuesday's game. If Q can play in this game, he would be a great start. Quentin has picked up six hits in 24 at-bats (.250) with three homers and four RBI in his career against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zack Greinke ($10,600).
KICK THESE SIX TO THE CURB
Starlin Castro, SS, Chicago Cubs ($4,300 vs. SF): Castro hasn't had a lot of success against San Francisco Giants SP Ryan Vogelsong ($9,200), going 3-for-13 (.231) with a triple and no RBI. If Mother Nature doesn't shut Castro and the Cubs down, Vogelsong should.
Andre Ethier, OF, L.A. Dodgers ($4,000 at SD): On paper, a matchup against San Diego Padres SP Jason Marquis ($6,100) looks favorable. However, Ethier has collected just three hits (all singles) in 24 career at-bats (.125). He has just on RBI and a .192 on-base percentage against Marquis.
Felix Hernandez, SP, Seattle ($11,800 vs. TEX): King Felix has managed a 4-7 record in 12 starts with one complete game and a 3.73 ERA in 12 starts against the Texas Rangers since the start of the 2010 season. He has 20 walks with 69 strikeouts over 82 innings during the span. With pitchers in Daily Fantasy, it's all about wins. Hernandez is likely to be on the short end.
John Jaso/Derek Norris, C, Oakland ($3,400/3,600 at LAA): It's uncertain whether Jaso or Norris starts against the Angels, but either way they aren't likely to have success against Vargas. Jaso is hitless in three career at-bats against Vargas, while Norris is 0-for-8 with three strikeouts against the Angels hurler.
Matt Kemp, OF, L.A. Dodgers ($5,300 at SD): Like his teammate Ethier, Kemp hasn't had a lot of success in his career against junkballer Marquis. Kemp has picked up just two singles in 17 at-bats (.118) with no RBI and five strikeouts against the San Diego veteran.
A.J. Pierzynski, C, Texas ($3,500 at SEA): Pierzynski hasn't had much success against King Felix, going just 6-for-32 (.188) with a .212 on-base percentage. Pierzynski has three doubles among those six hits, but he has no RBI, just one walk and six strikeouts for a subpar .493 OPS against the Seattle flamethrower.
