(DraftKings.com salaries are listed in parentheses)
BOSTON RED SOX
OF Shane Victorino (back), who aggravated his back ailment Wednesday night, is out of the lineup for Thursday's series opener against the Houston Astros. OF Daniel Nava gets the starting nod in right field.
CHICAGO WHITE SOX
White Sox 1B Paul Konerko ($4,900) is in the lineup against the visiting Rays, batting fifth and playing his customary first base. He was dinged by a pitch Wednesday, and he left the game early as a precaution. He has faced Tampa Bay Rays SP Jeremy Hellickson ($7,700) just three times in his career, delivering one single. 3B Conor Gillaspie ($4,100) gets another start at third base. He'll bat sixth behind Konerko, and is 2-for-6 with a solo home run and two walks over his past two games. He is hitting .304 overall.
1B Todd Helton (forearm) has finally been placed on the 15-day disabled list, so continue to avoid him obviously. OF Michael Cuddyer ($4,700) gets a start at first base Thursday in Arizona, but he is just 2-for-18 (.111) in his career against Diamondbacks SP Trevor Cahill ($8,200).
Marlins SP Kevin Slowey ($5,000) toes the slab against the Chicago Cubs, looking to break an ugly skid. He is 0-10 with a 5.78 ERA since his last victory back on Sept. 18, 2010. Will you trust 1B Joe Mahoney ($2,000) in your daily lineup? He had multi-hit games in each end of the doubleheader at Minnesota Tuesday, and he is batting .313 overall (5-for-16) with a double and three RBI. He could be a deep, deep sleeper. 2B/3B Placido Polanco ($3,700) looks to get on the board against Chicago Cubs SP Edwin Jackson ($9,900). He is 0-for-10 in his career against E-Jax with one walk and one strikeout.
NEW YORK YANKEES
The Yankees are once again without 1B/3B Kevin Youkilis (back) due to lower back tightness. With Youk sidelined again, 3B/SS Jayson Nix ($3,200) gets another start at third base, with 1B Lyle Overbay ($3,700) batting eighth and playing first base. Nix has scratched out three hits in 11 career at-bats (.273) against Toronto Blue Jays SP Mark Buehrle ($7,100). Overbay hasn't been as fortunate, going hitless in 16 career at-bats against the finesse lefty.
OF Michael Morse (rest) is out of the lineup, presumably as a scheduled day of rest. The lineup the Mariners roll out against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Garrett Richards ($5,200) is not too formidable. OF Endy Chavez ($2,000) will lead off and play center field, with 2B/3B Kyle Seager ($3,800) batting in the second spot and playing third base. Former Angels 1B Kendrys Morales ($4,000) might have a chip on his shoulder playing against his former team. He'll be the designated hitter, with 1B Justin Smoak ($2,900) batting cleanup and playing first base. 2B Dustin Ackley ($3,400) bats fifth and plays second base, C Kelly Shoppach ($3,500) makes another start behind the dish, with OF Carlos Peguero ($3,400) starting in right field and batting seventh. OF Jason Bay ($3,300) gets a start in left field, with SS Robert Andino ($2,800) over at short.
TAMPA BAY RAYS
The team will be without SS Yunel Escobar (hamstring), as he deals with some tightness in his right hamstring. Manager Joe Maddon gives 2B/OF Ben Zobrist ($5,500) the start at shortstop, with 2B/3B Ryan Roberts ($4,400) getting the nod at second base. Zobi has four hits, including one double, in five career at-bats against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale ($11,400).
Manager Davey Johnson gives 3B Anthony Rendon (rest) a scheduled day off, as the rookie has scuffled during the early stages of his career. He has just two hits in 15 at-bats so far while filling in for the injured 3B Ryan Zimmerman (hamstring). 2B/OF Steve Lombardozzi ($3,500) slides over to the hot corner, and he'll bat second. 2B Danny Espinosa ($3,500), who is just 2-for-18 (.111) in five games since returning from a wrist injury, starts at second base. He is hopeful of breaking out against Cincinnati Reds SP Bronson Arroyo ($7,000). Espinosa has four career hits in eight at-bats against the Key West native.
